hello
am new to netchess, have completed 4 matches
why has my rating not changed after 2 losses and 2 wins

Since your rating is provisional perhaps you played a player w/rating of 1500, since that is also most likely your rating.

Your rating stays the same until you have finsihed 10 or 20 games and you switch from provisional to full time player

1500 is the highest rating new players can start with

I thought your rating started showing up after 8 games, just unstable till you hit the 20 game mark. At 20 games you are no longer provisional. I don't know about the 1500 new player rating, there was a match request from a new user over the weekend who was rated 2000.

Your rating is provisional until you reach 20 games, but your rating won't change at all until you've completed 8 games. And note that games where your oppenent times out in under 10 moves don't count as a win for you.
