Ratings floor and ceiling, does it help accuracy ?
Ratings floor and ceiling, does it help accuracy ?
Seems a lot of players are bouncing off the floor of 2100 and a few bounce off the ceiling of 3000. Surely this distorts those ratings close to these limits, or does it make the system more accurate?

Without an upper limit, people were creating a bunch of users and playing against themselves to get ridiculous ratings like 99999999999999999999. Putting the limit in just means I don't have to police it. The lower floors are to guard against legitimate players who inadvertently time out on a lot of games due to some unforeseen circumstance.
