I did not annotate but play thru it and take a good look at he last 3-4 moves of Marshall, its a legendary game!!

the game was so brilliuant that the spectators showered Marshall;s board with gold pieces!

This game also won the First Brillancy Prize for the best game in the Congress!

I've never heard it referred to as the Marshall swindle. I just know he had a rep as a swindler.

ITs a very famous game!
Frank Marshall did have a reputation as a master tactician AND a damn good swindler, and he saved a few games with that ability.
Unfortunately, against his peers like Lasker, Capablanca and Nimzovitch, he did not fare near as well..his opening play especially, left allot to be desired, but he won the US Championship 7 times, a very nice feat :)
He played for the World Championship in 1907 against Emanual Lasker, but we way outclassed and defeated; he lost this match heavily by a score of +0 -8 =7
also, in 19087 he lost a match against Capablanca by a very bad score of +1 -8 =14; but was an excellent tournament player, because you always faced mixed strength opposition in a tournament, and he used this really well to hi advantage:)
