Humorous Chess Quotations.

Post by cliff » Sun Apr 17, 2011 5:41 pm

There are countless good and funny quotes on the game of Chess. We've all heard or read dozens of them, I'm sure.

I just came across this one today, and thought it might be appropriate with all the talk of ratings & ratings systems one reads here on the forum.

"The process of rating players can be compared to the measurement of the position of a cork bobbing up and down on the surface of agitated water with a yard stick tied to a rope and which is swaying in the wind."

- Arpad Elo

Anyone else have any good ones?

The winner is the one who makes the next-to-the-last blunder - Siegbert Tarrasch (..... or Groucho Marx?)

Message for islanderfan: believe it or not, too much work now (and I don't want to spend more time before the video than that I'm due to....). See you in july or august. Ciao.
