I assmumed he was referring to an "on-line" way of playing chess (e.g. blitz), which is what I was working on. No, I'll never replace the simple boards I have now with a Java applet, my oppinion is that same as everyone else's, Java pretty much sucks.

The outage this morning was due to problems with a router at the ISP. These will always happen and are unpredictable.

The outage last night were due to me working on the system, and were as described in the announcment.

Your rating is provisional until you reach 20 games, but your rating won't change at all until you've completed 8 games. And note that games where your oppenent times out in under 10 moves don't count as a win for you.

It could just as easily be negative infinity, because if you come at it from the other direction -2, -1, -0.5..., your numbers are opposite from the other direction. There won't be an automatic time increment, I'll just add more time if it looks like it's going to need it. I decide how much on a game by game basis.

E.g. If your time is at 1 day left, but your opponent has 20 days left, don't expect much time to be added.

0/0 is undefined because it has an infinite number of solutions. The idea that any number devided by iself is 1 is just a generalization, not a rule, and the same with anything to the 0th power.

It's probably somewhere around 160,000. But there's no mathematical way to determine the exact number of moves, the only way would be to count them all. 8)

Apparently the default was set to GMT. I've changed it to Eastern time, but daylight savings time still doesn't appear to work.

Also, if you go into your profile, you can set the time zone to whatever your local time is.
