Re: How do we end a Draw game/which a player refuses to ...
Hi, I have not really posted in here in years. Mostly because I never really see much anymore in forums to post about. It could be just me. You don't have to read this. It is long and probably tiring. I am only posting it in case you would like to know the boring life of a TD.:-) Anyway, I hate to c...

Does anyone want to get together and do analysis sessions through a discord server? I don't care what your strength is. My server is based on my group name in Facebook. And I am interested in mutual beneficial analysis. You can use it to make this site more live and personal if you like. The only th...

Re: Why One Game/Move At A Time ...?
Wouldn't it be a weakness though to assume everyone looks at the home page? I figure it's from the list being too long and it places recently moved "Rather than" lowest time. The list on the home page is sorted by the least amount of time left, so if they're not moving in a game it will eventually m...

Re: Why One Game/Move At A Time ...?
I have seen this a few times in the recent times playing. I figure it's from the list being too long and it places recently moved "Rather than" lowest time. And some people can't get through the mounds of games they commit to. I like to wonder why some people play super weird moves consistently even...

Re: Rating ceiling and floor.
Well I still look at this site as the same as other sites where the rating is accurate within it's own pool. But I will say this: I have been over 2300 here, when I am actually playing and not silly forfeiting, for years. I was 2400+ here when I was 1700-1800 uscf. Now that I am 2000+ in USCF indeed...

Re: Analytical Lab Superchess!
Okay, but then I would ask. Why would it be marketable when sites like Lichess offer Stockfish 10 for free? Even chess.com offer unlimited stockfish for free if your a professional player. To be honest I think you're on a sinking ship. I am surprised chessassistant is still available professionally....

And BTW, never believe an email.. If someone has your password report it to an authority, and change your password. Potentially enlist in sites that do two factor authentication and make sure they have secure protocols.

Re: HPI Identity Leak Checker
It doesn't take much to brute force an unsecure website, and you don't necessarily need to brute force a password on the unsecure site. The risk isn't necessarily your password. I will stay away from this subject for the most part. But unless you're a security expert you are at risk logging into thi...

Re: Analytical Lab Superchess!
So not to be confrontational, but why is this necessary? The average player doesn't need a super computer. They barely need a 286 running fritz. And since the average player can easily get ahold of a quad core or higher, and stockfish is free. Why would this be considered a marketable need? I am gen...

I hope I am generally pleasant to play. For those of you that remember playing me.:-) I can only pay attention to certain posts cause it hurts my dyslexia to read a lot of craziness. Re: Chess Overload !
My problem isn't chess overload. It's impatience. I started CC in hopes that I can focus on it and learn, but for some reason when I play I don't focus on the training. I will play too fast and get in to strange positions that I don't even know how I got into them. It's hard for me to sit and focus ...

Re: Greg Reverse?
Jesse, my beef with Greg is he seems to bend over backwards for people who have higher rankings, and for when other players ask for things he gives a smart . remark. I wasn't asking for the reversal for me. Was asking for it on behalf of Mike cause he was busy taking care of other things, and don't...

Re: Greg Reverse?
I am not sure what the problem is really. I would think that reversing a game already timed out and adding time would be a general courtesy that would have to be determined if it was worthy to go through to time to do it. And that getting belligerent about it and even quoting ratings is the childish...

Hey bud.
All this shows is the Cochrane Gambit. Is that what it is suppose to be? I have enough reference manuals, but I do enjoy a nice free opening book that has a decent amount of information. Let me know if there is more to this site.

Re: Those who purposely time out....when losing.
I don't believe I alluded to saying anyone was responsible for the 15 minute rule. if anyone was responsible it would be the opponent of the offender. Just to clear that in case it was pointed at me.You know I forgot totally that there was an internet section. I should look at that because I am cons...

Re: Those who purposely time out....when losing.
Well I am not disagreeing with Greg, as I am sure he knows. I am adding to the topic because he is right, if he follows the guideline according to the rules he is saying he is following then he has every right to forfeit the player and what he did was tame. However, in all honesty it kind of is depe...

Re: Those who purposely time out....when losing.
The only specific rule I know of about game abandonment is the fact that you cannot leave the tournament hall without notifying the TD if it's other than going to the rest room (Some TD's require notification of restroom breaks if you are in the final half of the tournament and you are on the leadin...

I believe it is kind of unfair to post an exact number to prove something is inflated. For you it may seem inflated but for others it may not. This site is grossly inflated and it has potential to give people a sense of euphoria. I personally like to goto FICS and ICC where I am rated 1950-2000 and ...

To answer the question on why a rating will jump up when you lose. First let me answer the most basic part of that: You are provisional. So the amount gained is soley based on the performance rating multiplied by the games you played before. The numbers will be high, the normal time frame generally ...

ICCF allows it and promotes it. As well as a few others I don't remember exact names. I don't like those sites. Most turn base sites I goto do not police that kind of activity. I have seen reasons to believe those people exist on here. I am not so positive you should really be that down. For one: Online chess really has no police most of the time. So especially on here you don't know what the guy is using. I really don't think that is correct, as chessmaniac is just as free and I am rated 1800 there, and they too have a lot of forfeits. I believe one of the main reasons the site is massively inflated is because of the fact that rating floors are so easily handed out. I believe the floors need more rules like having at least 400 games played or similar to that. I noticed the inflation back when I first came on, a player rated 1100 o...
