Who is system?
THIS system...net-chess?
Joined 1999; last logged in 2001.
Has posted many matches in the last few months;
people always sign up; nothing ever happens.
Not one game to his credit.
Matches disappear off the board before the required number
of people sign up.
Can anyone explain why this is happening?
If it's a prankster, shouldn't it be stopped?

Re: Matches posted by "system"
I always assumed System tournaments were generated automatically. They seem to popular with players of all ratings. The tournament starts when 10 players have joined and will then disappear from the "start a game" page. As System tournaments have no rating restrictions there is always a tournament available for everyone.

Ahhhhhh!!!
No wonder..
There doesn't appear to be a word anywhere about these matches.
Now I know!
Thanks very much for the clarification!

Yes, they're posted automatically to make sure there is always a match everyone can join.

Re: Matches posted by "system"
I signed up as the 19th player of 20 in a "System" event, or so I thought after being listed in the roster. Then the section was no longer listed nor was I included in an active new event.... so the specific question is how did this happen to me and apparently some others?
Re: Matches posted by "system"
The System tournaments that I've seen listed have always been for 10 players only.

GREETINGS.
Again I definitely signed up as player 19, saw my name in the roster, then the event disappeared and I am almost equally certain it was a "system" event. I am not new to Net-Chess.

Beammeupscotty might enlighten us as he plays in most System Tournaments. Maybe it wasn't a System Tourney, but it is strange that the tournament disappeared and with 18 other entries

All posts are deleted two weeks after posting if enough players haven't joined.
