Explicit warning about timeout loss would be nice...

Post by energy » Fri Mar 30, 2007 2:26 pm

Hi Greg.

I just lost on time with 20 days left.

At the bottom of the FAQ, I read: "You must make your first move within 10 days after the start of the game."

How long has that been there? I feel so cheated... :-(

It's not the rule I complain about, it's the surprise of not knowing about it before it's too late.

So my suggestion is that the warning email you get after some time of inactivity ("You are receiving this message because you have joined a game at
http://www.net-chess.com/ and you have not made a move
in five days."...) is _much_ more explicit in explaining that you risk losing if you don't get at least one move done.
Nils
