As for the GP, the four tournaments are all in Eastern Europe:
Baku, Azerbaijan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Tehran, Iran
Moscow, Russia
Next two Chess Olympics?

FIDE is a Russian dominated organization now. They don't even hide it any more...
