In the first one I miss the punchline
concerning the line:
1.Rxe4 Bxe4 2.Qxe4 c6 is no good for black 3. Ba6+ and 4.Nxc5
1.Rxe4 Bxe4 2.Qxe4 Kb8 3.Qxe5 ... should be better for white
I can't give you the exact lines but the two pieces should be better than the rook
interesting (but also a sure thing for white):
1.Rxe4 d5 2.Rxe5 and I see nothing better than
... dc4 3.Rxe7 Rxd3 4.Rxc7+ Kb8 and 5/6. cxd3 Rxg7+ +-
... Qf7 4.Ba6 +- nothing great in sight for black

There is no punch line in this, except its generaly a bad idea to trade two minor pieces for a rook (and a pawn), unless strategy requires it.
In this, this postition showed the direct effect of the trade.
With this, you may want to try out blacks reply: 1... Nxe5 2.Rxe5 Qg5+
Though Nxe5 is indeed not a good move, but shows that blacks position does need development, if black reverts to a drastic capture due to lack of anything else.
