If I'm not mistaken, I think it is not a Queens Indian until and unless black plays 3...b6.

Thanks Telly

Post by jjones » Mon Apr 05, 2004 4:58 pm

Hey Telly!

Thanks for letting the guys know all those variations...the QID is quite an interesting opening and a few lines tend to get tactical, especiallly the pawn sacrifice offered in the Rubenstein Variation ( I have really worked on that line as Black, and it can be very poisonous)!
That is the thing with Chess, so many good lines, each with a positive and negative..all possible yet once you choose your path, that is that.
the WID was always a worthy companion to the more popular Nimzo-Indian and might have surpassed it for a short time when it was thought to be over-analysed once the 4. Qc2 line was giving White nothing.
Of course, now, many players choose the QID instead of the Queens Gambit after Whites 3rd move Nf3, and it is a strong and solid opening in its own right!

Good luck and Good chess!!
