No. 1.Nf3+ Kf1 2.Nxe1 exd6 3.Qxd6 Kxe1 looses a knight.

I agree. If white follows your line Greg then white will lose Queen.

Oh. They'ed come out pretty much even, maybe white down a pawn, possibly two.

Black actualy looses the knight if black follows this line:
1... Nf3+ 2.Kf2! Nxe1 3.exd6 Nxc2 4.dxc7 and blacks knight is trapped.
White can now play Rd2 or pin the knight after Nxb4
(the knight cannot be protected by playing either a5 or c5)
So, black looses a Knight for 2 pawns.
