Post by tellymetwise » Fri Dec 19, 2003 10:19 pm

As I mentioned in database puzzle2, how higher your level of play, the less obvious the blunders.
As example this position of a blunder.

This position was taken from the database game between:
dmitryogloblin-munbehend
December 1st, 2000.

White just played Bb5d3, how does black continue?

White's move should have been Rc3.

Answer:

White created the possibility to be forked by the black Knight on d1.
To achive this, black needs to block the white Rook with the Bishop.

Ultimately, white can avoid the fork, but not without the cost of a pawn.
