Game Commentary Toonhorse vs. Bentium

Post by toonhorse » Tue Dec 09, 2003 3:57 pm

Can anyone tell me why this game ended in Stalemate? It seems that black should be able to move the pawn forward one and thus lose the game once white takes the piece. Both Bentium and I feel that this game should not have ended as Stalemate. . . .are we missing something?

It's a win for white. No doubt.

stalemate ???????????

Everybody knows that white wins but why does it say "stalemate" ??
If the position is the same without the pawn, its stalemate but the pawn can move, promote rook, bishop, knight or queen !

I changed the game so it shows "Black resigned" and your records have been adjusted.

Behind the scenes, the program was promoting the black pawn to a white queen. Then say, nope your in check, that's not a valid move. It's fixed now (for like the third time).

My "for the third time" was in reference to this problem actually happening about four or five times, and every time I "fixed" it.
