Disk failure

Post by mluka » Mon Jun 19, 2006 4:36 pm

The latest outage - and hopefully the others over the past few weeks - was caused by a hard drive failing on the server. The hosting company was able to burn an image of the data, so theoretically, everything can be recovered; however, if anyone has a recent cached version of the ladder / pyramid standings, please save a copy, just in case. In the worst-case scenario, it should be possible to reconstruct the standings as of a few days ago.

My only functional email account right now is skiptomylew@hotmail.com. I plan on spending most of tomorrow trying to get the site up and running again. If I encounter any issues with incomplete data, I will likely need someone to send me a zip file, but I won't open a zip file unless I'm expecting it.

I'll post updates in this thread as I learn more. Please post a response if you do have a cached version of the standings.

The data appears to be ok. Site should be back up within 24 hours.
