I was not aware that inmates were allowed access to the internet ...... Is this true !
Otherwise, how then are they able to play online ....???

You probably have to go there. A friend of mine organized a tournament in a prison once per year where people from outside were allowed to come in and play against the inmates. I never managed to make one

The fact that
Redketchuplover was providing us with what appears to be a
U.S. mail address, I should have realized that this was for
Correspondence Chess via the U.S. snail-mail, and neither in-person visits or thru internet usage.
Maybe I spend too much time looking for possible chess tactics, instead of seeing what is obvious.
