Chess24 is the new in-place to be!

It's free for basic stuff, but quite eager to get you to become a paying member...

They're also the official internet company doing the Chess Olympics 2014.

Just politics. We have the money, but the current crop was voted in on saving government spending, so this is an easy win for them. They don't give a damn about Tromsø (northern Norway) or chess players. Both groups have much too few votes to matter...

We'll just have to wait and see who blinks first. I'm pretty sure it will happen in some form though.
