link in email notification leads to wrongsided board display

Post by alchab » Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:04 am

what I get when I click on the link is the game from the other player's side. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Your email may navigate to a slightly different url than when you normally visit the site - you may be able to correct it by logging in and saving password on the variation of slowchess.com opened by your email program. Some email programs may dynamically prepend a string when opening a url; if this is the case, you might be out of luck.
I think white's side of the board is always shown on top when you view a game while not logged in.

I guess I need to change the link in the e-mail notification....

Basically what Mike said is correct. If you're not logged in, the server doesn't know which side you're playing, so it always shows white at the bottom. After I change the link in the e-mails it probably won't be so much of a problem.
