Some days there is no email others they all come in at once. Is the email system having problems?

several times in the last week. Looks as they were dammed up and thenn broke through at once.

I've been complaining to Greg about this for about 2 weeks.
Glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem.

I'm thinking a lot of ISPs are throtteling the amount of mail they'll receive from this server to limit spam. The ISP where this server is located just gave me a server I can relay mail through, so maybe that will help.

most ips have antispam filters so they may get cought up. but the interesting thing is that some antivirus program intercept some of the e-mails as well and put them in quarantine....

The problem isn't so much a spam filter, as the ISPs simply aren't letting my server connect to them to send mail.
Right now there are 15000 backlogged messages. I've just updated the sendmail configuration to relay mail through my ISP's mail server, so we'll see how it goes.
