Extra time in tournament?

I remember reading somewhere that extra time would be allowed in the 2005 tournament games that last for 40 moves or more. Is this still the case, I can't remember where I read it, but I think that I might need a little more time as I'm running low on a couple of games, which are nearly at 40 moves, or already at 40 moves
