Just a quick question about ratings. Does one's rating not change after winning/losing games until they are no longer provisional? If so, how many games must be played before one is no longer provisional? Thanks.
Your rating will change after any completed game, unless:
a)your opponent times out in under ten moves;
b)you lose to a much higher ranked opponent (300 points I think);
c)you win against a much lower rated opponent; or
d)you draw against an opponent whose rating is very close to yours.
Your 21st completed game establishes your rating.
In a) above, it may be the case that you do not get credit for a completed game.
