Congrats to Sumdeus
My congratulations to Sumdeus,also.
He did play superbly and handed me only my 31st defeat(lol!).
I would like to mention that Cohonas played damned well, too, finishing,
I expect, a very close 2nd(not to mention handing me my 30th loss!).

My congratulations to Sumdeus, also.
He handed me only my 3rd defeat .
I would like to mention that Cohonas was the cause of my 4th loss and Davidswhite - of my 2nd...
You guys have quadrupled my loss record. Already. And my apologies to forster and qwertzuiop - they could make me 5th and 6th loss...
Thank you very much.

Maybe he is the burning bush, feeling left out from being the stand in for a voice?davidswhite wrote:Like cohonas, I learned the meaning of sumdeus only after I'd completed
my games with him.
Presumably, his silence during our games(refusing even to acknowledge
my praise) was the result of his not deigning to converse with us mere
mortals.
Just ridiculous
I followed the discussion concerning this fabulous player with a handle I don't like very much. If he wins against my friend David he must really be excellent. But does he need somebody else asking him to communicate with the mortals? This whole story is just ridiculous. Chess is not a game to be played in the name of God. The handle "sumdeus" is presumptuous and offending.
Just my two cents

Re: Just ridiculous
You are quite right. Chess is just that...a game. Nothing more, nothing less.muabdib wrote:I followed the discussion concerning this fabulous player with a handle I don't like very much. As for the meaning of the word sumdeus, I have no idea what it means, but people who choose handles like that know what they are doing. If his handle offends you, just don't play him.
