Months ago someone asked me to play on their concert.
Yesterday I received a mail saying I was rejected of this concert due to time problems.
My piece was only a 'miezerige' 15 minutes long and they couldn't just think about how much I studied for it, perfected it...
They really know nothing about real musicians, those amateurs...
What do you think about this?
I never felt this angry in my life!

Next time try hitting them with a non-refundable appearance fee--50% in advance. That separates the amateurs from the pros

As you could guess I replied with a very angry post.
As a result they re-invited me. Attacking my integrity was a shame, but I accepted it. I wanted to level up my experience.
I played with everything I got, I was satisfied, only I played too many mistakes.

Its good that they reconsidered. They probably were scheduling without calculating the consequences of dropping your piece. That's why a $$ deposit works so well--when they drop you and lose money they will have a very good reason. Glad it was all worked out.

How long did you practise for this?

To be honest, I liked to practice it. I didn't practice so much, I always just play the piece for 30 minutes and then quit playing.
Practice is never practice, it's just playing for me.
