I'm playing a friend who, although they can play, could benefit from being allowed to takeback some moves. Can we do this here?

If you mutually agree to take back a move and no pieces have left the
board as a consequence of the move you wish to take back,you can accomplish it by merely reversing the moves til you're back where you
want to be.

Also: Pawns can't go backwards.

And you cannot undo castling
