This post is a bit late, but certainly the statement is worth passing on, and this seems the appropriate thread to put it under.
A good friend of mine from the site and I are currently engaged in a game, and we were chatting about him being here on the site since nearly the start, way back in 1999.

His comment was a gem, and so accurate I had to post it someplace!

"...Some good guys, some strange guys, some quiet guys, but never a bad guy...a great community!"

More true and eloquent than anything I could ever say about the site!

Happy Birthday Net-Chess. Thank you Greg for this great site. I joined in 2004. I've been on other sites, but none of them come close to this one. The format is very user friendly, and that's important to computer illiterates like me. All the players are pretty good guys. Sometimes we get a trouble maker, but they tend not to hang around for long. Thank you once again.
