having obtained a secondhand copy of nunns chess openings is useing this book considered cheating

That is just one book, but what about the large opening databases available online?
As far as I know they are allowed. Just about all of my games get out of theory by move 10 anyway.

Yes, books/databases are OK. But any analysis with an engine or advice from a person is not OK.
