Preparations

Post by iamachessstudent » Thu May 15, 2014 1:41 pm

I am curious...
How do you prepare for matches and tournaments??

Media, books, on-line or combination of all??

I use ChessBase, Hiracs14, Online new-letters, and websites...www.chessnews.com; etc etc, plus I have a database of all my games, broken down by openings...and year!

Going through your opponents games, maybe? Especially before matches.

Perhaps working on your weakest area will help.

Is it Greg:), but we all prepare differently and everyone had good points!
Opponent's games are a nice way, as well as working on any weak points on your game!
Trimming and making sure your opening repertoire is solid and you are up to date!

Practice/study ENDINGS!!
work constantly on your openings, critical lines, your favorite variations.
try to stay within your preparation as far as openings you choose with black and White...don't let your opponent take you out of your "game".

:)
