Everlasting repeated draw offers

Post by gospodin » Sun Jul 25, 2010 3:27 pm

In game g1105031684, malakhov has just made his third draw offer in three moves. This problem is not confined to this game. In general, I find that unless malakhov has the advantage, he sends draw offers on almost every move.

Does anyone else have this problem with malakhov, or is it just me?

In any case, I would very much appreciate the administrator doing something about it, since it is contrary to the customary laws of chess.

Hi, Josh! Long time no see!

I invited you to a couple of tournaments, and even asked Jonathon to relay the message to you, since the email I sent you was returned as undeliverable. It seems the challenges aren't being forwarded by the system right now. Hope Greg gets that fixed soon. However I'm pulling the plug on the Summer Summit Tournament I set up, and it'll be a Fall Festival Tournament instead. Perhaps people will have more free time in then. In the meantime, could you email me your correct email? It seems I screwed up your old one....Thanks.

:D :D

I'm not even going to comment on Malakhov, since that's as pointless as his actions, and as silly as his complaints! Besides, I thought Malakhov was leaving this den of "Anti-Russian" cheaters a long, long time ago!

But regarding the Forum's silence, I've noted it also, Josh. and attributed a lot of it to the summer, vacations, kids being off school, etc. And also, I've had really nothing to report of the Zapper, so nothing to post on that topic either.

And I'm going to let Brian have the last word on Malakhov! He does it so well!

4th offer in a row

Post by gospodin » Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:54 pm

Malakov just made his fourth draw offer in a row, after

It's possible that White may not win this but only an idiot as Black would offer a draw here. Fine; it's his right to offer a draw, but it's not his right to keep offering a draw, move after move.

He has just made his fifth draw offer in a row. So if he received a warning, he has ignored it. After the next draw offer, I would like a forfeit.

What ended up being the result of this (now famous) game?

gospodin, I think he (or she) is messing with you mentally, irking you into a mistake. I have had played against a player OTB in a tournament and my opponent did the same thing. But, since silence was golden, I pretended to be deaf and n the end, he was bicthing and moaning about about me not accepting his draws. The organizer wanted to warn me, which surprised me, until I show him the possible continuation. My opp ate crow. LOL

I once otb did repeated draw offers. But the position was R+P+K vs R+P+K my opponent made me play this for 5.5 hours otb. At the end he was running out of moves to play that wasn't three repetition fold. it was 50 move draw when he had less than 3 seconds on his clock. Then he had to proceed to lecture me about how he was winning all along (roll eyes). So yes there are times when repeated draw offers are not only considered standard protocol but not even the slightest bit rude.

Of course in the position in question, its outrageous that he did offer more than one draw. He is clearly worse and would have to fight to get that draw.

KW: In that case, I would have stop the match and call over the TD and explain to the person that it's a draw.
