Drawn game

Post by ghorn » Wed Feb 17, 2010 7:02 pm

I have a game that is a draw, but my opponent will not accept a draw offer. The game is g1105004728. Greg can you check this out and assist?

Ah, but maybe he's using pyschology on you! Perhaps he feels you'll eventually make an error and lose your bishop, then he could end up coming out of the game with....er....a draw?!

Well I will just have to keep making moves till he learns what is a draw. He played a better game than me till I got the chance to force a draw.

Why not just give him your bishop, then tell him to check out "Knight Endings" on wikipedia? There, he can read in black and white that two knights can't force a mate. Maybe then, he'll see the light and accept the draw.

Which leads to the question, I suppose: is the server set up to recognize that type of ending?

I've declared the game a draw. The server won't automatically recognize most drawn games, the only one it does automatically is a 3 move rep. Usually the players agree to a draw well before they get to that point rather than wasting their time.

Two knights can't automatically be declared a draw, because it's possible the last capture leads to an immediate mate.
