Hello out there!
Not the place for instant gratification...
Just like chess?
This place never was very chatty, I doubt you'll change it. But good luck trying.

In addition to my game load here, I've got maybe 60-70 games going on at other sites as well ..... So as much as I enjoy reading and responding to our forum posts here, I'm usually busy fine tuning my repertoire. It's a lot of work ....... but a labor of love !
Chess is more than simply my pastime .... It has become My Passion !
Too much vino ..... in anticipation of Turkey .... sorry again !

Hmmm........?????? You Got Me Juselton .....! ! ! ! Then again, I'm not much of a movie buff ..... I spend so much of my time here at Net-Chess, trying to figure my best replies to the Nimzo & other defenses ....
But if I had to guess ...... I would probably say Fishburne ....???? No ....?????

Who wasthe strongest celebrity chess player?
Unless it's some type of trick question, the answer's unknowable. There was no real rating system available for chess hobbyists and they played most of
their games amongst themselves.
By reputation,Humphrey Bogart,Bobby Darin, and Anthony Quinn were known
to be very strong for non-professionals.
Currently, Will Smith,Keanu Reeves and Sting are considered gifted amateurs and,in his Greenwich Village/Woodstock days,I know that Bob Dylan achieved near-legendary status among his peers at speed chess. The
one celebrity today whose chess prowess is especially well regarded is
Woody Harrelson.
I'm sure I've overlooked a ton of celebrity chess superstars and hope you
will enlighten the forum.
Regards,
David

Well, its an open-ended question---no definite answer. John Wayne was an avid chess player. Paul Whiteman, the band leader, was on the cover of Chess review. However, if I was a betting man---like Lederer, I would put my money on---"Nude descending a Staircase"!
I've read that some of Dylan's band members paid Fischer 5,ooo dollars to spend a couple of hours with Bob as a birthday present. And of course, Fischer, was really into music. That probably went pretty good!

Hello out there!
Hey! It worked! I got things going!
Chess is changing---why cant chess players talk to each other like poker players do. There is a lot of interesting talk going on in a poker tournament. Sometimes the talk is better than the play.
I wonder what kind of interesting conversations we would have if we could talk to each other in chess matches.
How about Short vs Chaparinov--- Short: So, you wont shake my hand huh---WELL SHAKE THIS!!

Totally off topic (whatever the topic was. I forget.), Just paging up through the posts on this thread, I was noticing the dates that members had joined on.
Looks like, at least on this thread, the months March through May, and October - November seem to be the most common. Spring and Fall?
Is that when a person's thoughts turn to chess?
