Drawn game

Post by segovia » Wed Apr 16, 2008 5:38 pm

Greg

My game with ajeffries is drawn (just the two Kings left). I have offered a draw to my opponent repeatedly but he will not accept because he says it will reduce his rating. Game ID is g1104871260.

Any chance you could draw the game for me?

Thanks

Segovia

That´s very true, this draw would cost him about 5 rating points!

That´s far too much for a player who started with 1759 in 2008, went down to 1649 and then exploded to 1837. After another down (1682) he now found back to his way up again (low 1800).
I can´t imagine that you want to take the responsibility for another turn down, so you should better resign ...

Man... that is just wrong on so many levels. :D

You are right, it seems I checked another player with a similar name (probably a typo) - sorry for that.

(/irony on) The opponent´s rating is about 2000, so the damage caused by this draw (and it will be a draw as soon as Greg happens to read this thread) will be even worse! So the only way to avoid any severe and permanent problems on their end is still resigning the game. (/irony off)

The game comment "You understand that this is unsporting behaviour? I appreciate that you don't want your rating to drop, but I think it is ungentlemanly to continue a game like this one." goes into the wrong direction as the opponent put an "F" into the profile´s gender.
Anyway, poor behaviour - no matter of the person behind.

Thanks for the research!

Perhaps I should amend my game comment to suggest that the opponent's behaviour is unbecoming of a lady...

I've declared the game a draw.

I have offered my opponent a draw multiple times in this game...

I'm pretty tired of circling around.

HELP!

Even though that game is technically drawn, it isn't one a TD is allowed to declare as a draw.
