I was wondering the same thing.. It was suppose to start like saturday or yesterday. I have this fear that my name will be missed in sign ups:-) I noticed I have my name in there twice but it still could be missed.

Anyone know if it will start soon?

2007 Tournament?

Post by armonchess » Tue Feb 06, 2007 1:36 am

Oh good! That means I am not alone!
I read something about the 2006 tournament not finished yet, right? This is the first time I participate in the tournament. Hopefully we won't miss the games!
Anyways, good luck to you guys.

In 2006 tournament ...

Post by slowblunder » Thu Feb 08, 2007 5:05 am

... I remember having received email-messages for each game with me to move (=n-1 messages with n=number of players in my group) as soon as the tournament had been started. In simpler words: one message per white game.
So don´t worry that you might miss anything if you have your email-notification marker set to "on".

Hope that helps.

At the very least you'll get an email saying that the match has started, with a list of games in the match and pairings - again assuming email notification is On.

Once the games begin, you will see several new games appear in your game list. In the past, they have had time controls of 60d + 0d. The announcement will be made on the home page, as well. Once the games begin, you can go to the tournament page and do a search for your handle (ctrl-F on Win-doze systems). Follow that match ID to see which games in your list are tournament games.

Oops. I've got one heck of a cold, so I haven't been doing much of anything latley. I'll try to get the tournament started today.

Greg

Whats the rules for additional time??

I seem to recall from the past that if a certain number of moves was reached a fixed amount of time was added to both players time.

I ask as i'll be beyond move 60 by the end of the week but will be down to about ten days left and i'll be away for about a week then too.

Once you get to 50 moves you can request more time. I normally add 14 days to each side.

Just the winners from each match go on to the next round.

Hi,

Can anybody tell me what's the fun of the last game-in-play in 1st round of the 2007 tournament? If this isn't a draw, I'm a goldfish.
I'm not in the 2nd round  , but my son (jasperp) is  I would ask when 2rd round starts, because in August we are three weeks on holiday.

Regards,

Since I don't speak French, I missed your request not to be included. I'll add your rating points back.
