Microsummaries for Firefox 2.0 users

Post by gmiller » Fri Oct 27, 2006 11:20 pm

For those using Firefox 2, there's a new feature which allows a website to change the title of a bookmark based on a microsummary. I've added the ability for this site to change the title of the Net-Chess bookmark to indicate how many games it's your move in.

To use it go to the main page and select Bookmarks -> Bookmark this page. You see the "Name" has a drop down arrow on the right, click it and select the line below where it says "Live Titles". As long as you're logged in, the bookmark will get updated showing how many games it's your move in.

I haven't quite figured out how often Firefox updates the title, but it appears to be about every 15 minutes or so.
