Does the rating filter on matches actually work? I have seen the person setting up a match to be lower than the ratings posted. In some cases as much as 200 points. Can they still play in the match? I also often find people a lot higher or lower showing as joined to a match. Do they still play in it even with the filter? I know at times ratings changes can cause this, but some are 100 or more points off. Am I right that the only thing it does is limit the matches that show up on the page and it has no ability to filter out who plays? It is not a problem on this great site, but I had never seen anyone mention it before and wanted to know.

Its based only on the player's rating at the time they sign up for a match, so they still play in the match even if their rating changes after they sign up. Whoever posted the match isn't affected by the filter, anyone can post a match with any parameters they want.
