Here is a hypothetical situation.
Say 2 players are playing in a 2-game match (call them Players A & B).
Both have adequate time left.
In the one game Player A is wiining and in the other he is losing.
What is the best for Player A in terms of his overall rating points gained or lost? Should he resing first and then win or should he win first and then resign.
Would it make much of a difference if the initail ratings points between the 2 players differ a lot?

You might gain a point or two just from rounding, but for the most part you'd come out even. Here's a rating calculator I threw together which you can play with:

But this assumes your opponent's rating won't change between games.
I can understand trying to improve your rating as a goal to know you're getting better. But I can't imagine maniplulating your rating in this way as being productive in any way. Most people here just create ghost accounts and play against themselves, so this is also a rather inefficient method of rating maniplulation.
