Does it matter?

If people cheat, don't accept draws, play on after they've clearly lost etc etc?

I come onto net-chess because it is a well run site that allows me to play chess at my own time against both friends and people I don't know. It exercises my brain and allows me to play a game that I hadn't played for years.

If someone cheats, the only person they are cheating is themselves as they are not learning anything from their chess. If they play on and don't resign, then the onus is on me to ensure that I don't mess up and convert my position into a victory.

I haven't played anyone like that yet, but if I do, when I play them again (if I chose to play them again) I would ensure that I set suitable time periods (ie high time period and short refresh period) to make sure this didn't unduly upset me.

Chess is at the end of the day a game and gmiller sorts out problems to the best of his ability - but people shouldn't take themselves too seriously!!!!

Enjoy your chess....
