How is a Provisional Rating calculated?
Until you have 20 games completed, your rating will be calculated as a provisional rating which is very different from how an established rating is calculated.
For provisional ratings, it doesn't matter who you beat, but only who you've played and how many games you've won. For example, if you beat a 400 player and loose to a 3000 player, you'd have the same rating as if you lost to a 400 and beat a 3000.
It's really best to just ignore your rating, especially when you've only got a few games under your belt. It's going to jump around a lot until you get several games rated and a mix of wins and losses.
