With 10.Qb4 ( View Board ) CM8000 has now clearly shown its intention of creating an passed a-file pawn, with the attack focused on the queen-side of the board. Though white might have rushed it too much. Black now has several options open to defend but also has a nice counter attack with a combinat...

I only just have this rssreader since your site is using it. But, yes, it does, but those are ones that also make use of the "lastbuilt" time (might apply, if it concerned daily mass new news items) and "guid" (with new timestamped pages) to ensure for proper date stamp. Those two shouldn't make tha...

Hello Greg,
You are right that white cannot recapture the knight with Qxe5.
How would you continue if white played the fork f4 immediatly?

You are right Mike. View Board Bd5 now covers also e5. Now Black has to avoid white's Nh5 or loose the queen. Either Nh4 (Nxh4 Qxh4) or Qf6 are good responses to this. Though white has an overloaded piece now. After Bxb7 Rab8 Bxa6, black will use this weakness by playing exd4. The end result will be...

People who are English native speaking have problems with some fowels or consonants and therefore pronounce it with an English accent. Those who post in this thread are trying to show others how its pronounced in native Russian...

Re: Scheveningen
I have an old audio tape of Michael Stean "working with a Grandmaster" in which he analyzes a sicilian Scheveningen game against Leon Piasetsky in Yugoslavia. Michael Stean pronounces Scheveningen---'Skay'-'vuning'-'un'-with the accent on the Skay. Do you also have an audio on how russians try to p...

Nxg6 is indeed the correct move Ghorn :) you might expect something like: 1. Nxg6 Nxg6 2.Bxf7+ Kh8 3.Bxe8 Nh4+ 4.Kh3 Qh6 etc. Whatever follows, black's king is exposed in the corner and black has a large enough material disadventage to just give up. Steve, Black does indeed prevent e5 with 0-0-0, bu...
