Here is an example game of his strength, playing black.
I guess your opponent should be rated 1100, but with all the draws managed to stay at 1466.

You can obtain additional information on your opponent this way: search for his info: wins/loss/draw = 1/3/ 9 (13 games total) search for his games: total number of games involved: 18 and have a peek at how many games he offered a draw. ( almost all ) Conclusion: .... that's how you want to interpre...

For the people interrested: freetranslation.com I've to say, Barletta isn't the first person to react offended after the phrase "gg". Even though it was on a chess server. I saw that if you played Bh7g8 you might check with the Knight on g8. From there it was a small step to notice that the Bishop was a promoted pawn, giving me the required Knight to mate on g8. Moves are as raymond already stated. Take back: hxg8B (most probably capturing a Bishop) To play: hxg8N N i...

If I would change the rules of the games a bit, lets say, you have to tell black where you want your King to finaly be as seeming the best place to achieve the best attack (or defense), and then black may place the bishop anywhere to obstruct you AND then still make a move. Would Kg1 fit into your s...

If you want to calculate based on those numbers you would get the following: winchance is: (wins + 0,5 * draws) / #of games In your case that would be: (377 + 18,5) / 645 = 0,61 A winchance of 61% equals somewhat 55 points difference. Thus your rating would be: 1779 + 55 points = 1834 points. There ...

16 or so more games to finish (out of 32 current) and I'll accept your challenge Jeff. Actually, as there is hardly any play between internet chess "clubs", ratings tends to differ quite a lot from site to site and from internet to real life (including between USCF and any other chess federation, though international championships tend to reduce the differences). As long as ratings ca...

When I look at Bd4, I can only see that White can completely ignore it. Unless Rxc2+. But even then white can safely play any other move and strengthen the position. As I tried to describe the position of white earlier in a post, white's king is completely unprotected on the Queen side of the board ...
