It was trying to redirect you to the login page, I've fixed that.

If you normally use the URL www.net-chess.com, then use http://www.net-chess.com/addtime.cgi and save a login step.

Nope, you don't have to wait, I'm restarting the tournament just for you. It might take me a few months to get it started, and it might be called the 2016 tournament, but that's just due to my inept programming abilities.

Re: 2015 tournament

I suppose it's possible that Apache, the most widely used web server in history, has a bug that caused it to fail to log an entry when you clicked the join button again. And failed again to log an entry where you clicked the link to verify your entry, and also failed to log you trying again, and ver...

Nope. As we all know, the international standard for something you're unfamiliar with not working is to blame the system you're just learning to use. Yes, you did try to join the tournament, but you weren't logged in and were redirected to the login page.

Re: Ratings floor and ceiling, does it help accuracy ?

Without an upper limit, people were creating a bunch of users and playing against themselves to get ridiculous ratings like 99999999999999999999. Putting the limit in just means I don't have to police it. The lower floors are to guard against legitimate players who inadvertently time out on a lot of...

If they have a lot of time remaining, I do reduce the amount of time so they time out within a few days. It should be easy enough to just ignore the game for a short period of time, so not much to be done in this case.

Chessleon could make an insufficient loosing chances claim, but that'd still result in a draw. But Bonaparte pretty much threw the match with game g1105181564 (he had plenty of time), so not really much need to discuss it.

Five copies of Polgar's 5334 Chess Problems, Combinations, and Games.
