How can I update my Interface on Net Chess?
Q. How can I update my Interface on Net Chess?
A. When viewing your profile, select "Edit your profile" all the way at the bottom. There you can select from three different interfaces, generally standard and enhanced are the only two that are useful.

Re: Overall Ranking
Is there a way to see a list of net-chess members listed in order of ranking? It would be interesting to see where one ranks in relationship to all other players. I remember there used to be a way to do this, but I don't see it anymore. You can go here: http://www.net-chess.com/playersearch.php Ent...

:P How will we know which games are tournament games? Once the games begin, you will see several new games appear in your game list. In the past, they have had time controls of 60d + 0d. The announcement will be made on the home page, as well. Once the games begin, you can go to the tournament page...

Update on Jeff Jones
Hi everyone - I just got off of Instant Messenger with Jeff Jones. He is home for the holidays right now, but is going back next week to the hospice. His prognosis is not good. He was given only 1-2 more months to live. I asked him what he would like me to tell all of you, and this is what he typed:...

More About Ratings....
How is a Provisional Rating calculated? Until you have 20 games completed, your rating will be calculated as a provisional rating which is very different from how an established rating is calculated. For provisional ratings, it doesn't matter who you beat, but only who you've played and how many ga...

Ratings on this site Provisional ratings are based on your performance against the average of the ratings of all of the oponents you've played. So it's pretty typical for your rating to go down if you've won every game but are playing players rated 400 points below your current rating. This effect ...

Today, by clicking on "All Ratings" on the Home Page a ranking list appears, but it is faulted... 1. Greg -
I don't know if this has been suggested before, but some (not all, of course) forums that I post on and read contain an off-topic forum. Any thoughts to adding that to the Net-Chess.com forum?
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Tim
