Greetings Taff, as you can see, not much happens on this forum, but we still have the usual suspects playing in great tournaments.

Re: New Shredder app for iOS.
The Shredder app does seem different from the other apps such as SocialChess and Postal Chess for iOS. It’s more of a link to a web site as it contains so many features. I like the simplicity of net-chess. I use SocialChess for the odd game of Chess960.

Re: Match requiring a minimum rating
The one possible solution might be to make sure you set the minimum rating higher than that of the scoundrels you wish to avoid. Being able to abort a game would be a neat solution too.

New Shredder app for iOS.
Anyways it is new for me. It’s not a chess engine but rather a site to play online opponents. It’s easy to navigate and the design is nice and clean. Allows time controls from bullet to correspondence, AND it has tournaments !

Error in the note and notepads.
I have attempted to make an addition to the notes to one game (via edit feature) which then ended up in the notepad of a different game in the game list. One time I added a “:)” via edit which ended up on a different game and when i attempted to remove it, the “:)” it ended up on a different game (i...

Re: GAME RESULT NOT RATED
Just found my previous post titled "Results not shown" where g1105295262 which concluded on 3rd Dec '17 was not rated. Surely someone else has had the same problem of their games not being rated. Anyway, if this glitch only happens once every three months it won't make much difference to my rating, ...

Re: GAME RESULT NOT RATED
I've just had two more time-outs that weren't rated but then I realised that they were under 10 moves and as such aren't rated. This particular feature could be abused and I am sure it is.

GAME RESULT NOT RATED
Alexp resigned our game and the result is shown on the cross-table and my home page, but the game has not been rated. The result does not show on the Rating History page either. Anyways, it was a good game and Alexp is a tough opponent.

Results are not showing up on the home screen or in rating history. Maybe it has to do with the server upgrade.

Re: Having an "Abort" feature
There's no abort for tournaments on Chess.com. You can withdraw from a tournament and forfeit your remaining games and not lose rating points, unless it's a thematic tournament of more than 3 moves when you will lose points.

Re: ARE YOU A PERFECTIONIST?
No Red, I seldom use the notepad feature. I've seen a serious CC player fill books with his analysis. I'm not a perfectionist, although I do become somewhat obsessive with my hobbies, whatever they might be. At the moment it's chess, but purely on an entertainment level, in one recent tourney I play...

ARE YOU A PERFECTIONIST?
I have a slight tendency toward being a perfectionist and of course we all want to make the best or ar least a good move on the board, but in my case perfectionism spells PARAYSIS. I often come to a game and it just looks like a random jungle of pieces, sending my brain go into neutral. So I'll sear...

What is the best number of games to have?
it seems to be a case of quality versus quality, more games equals less time therefore lower quality. I've had up to 100 games which was too much to handle, so for me the ideal seems to be about 20. I am here for entertainment, and chess is the best! There is nothing better than jumping onto the iPa...

Oh come on itsmenow, 95% of the entrants know that they have little hope of qualifying for round 3. Just take a look at the rating of the guys who play in round 3, they're all bouncing off the the 3000 ceiling. For most it is an achievement to get to the second round.

"CHESS COACH" application.
It can analyse any position on the Social Chess app. Seems to be designed for cheating, although it does say that the opponent must agree to it being used. I can't see any opponent agreeing to it. The common profile page message is "no computer help!".

PLAY MAGNUS APPLICATION
Just downloaded Play Magnus app and while it is rather humbling to lose to an engine tuned to play like an 8 year old I have eventually managed to defeat it at that setting. The best thing about the app is it's style of play. It plays very aggressively and seems to create chaos on the board. It's mo...

I always assumed System tournaments were generated automatically. They seem to popular with players of all ratings. The tournament starts when 10 players have joined and will then disappear from the "start a game" page. As System tournaments have no rating restrictions there is always a tournament a...

David, neither of us has ever timed out so we have never had the opportunity of attempting to move after our time has expired. At the moment I have a couple of games where opponents have exceeded their time but the games aren't terminated.

Time out question
My opponent has no time left, well actually he has minus 1 day 22 hours 18mins, but the game is still active. So I'd assume if he makes a move now then the game would continue. So when is a time out actually decisive?

Rating floor.
I thought everyone received a rating floor, with the maximum being 2100 for exceeding 2300 points. However I'm playing an opponent (Ramesis) who has no rating floor. Just curious.
(BTW having a rating floor is a great idea, especially with the large number of time-outs we get.)
