Re: 2012 Net-Chess Tournament Round 2

Munbehend also had the chance to win his game against me, but he decided to offer me draws for both games, just for tactical reasons! In my eyes Munbehend did not play his best chess! http://www.slowchess.com/viewgame.cgi?p1=g1105099627 And I am still convinced Appolom played his best chess, he trie...

Re: 2012 Net-Chess Tournament Round 2

Hi Greg, so if you think a timeout win is not as worth as any other win, you should look at our second game too !!! Here the position was lost for me, too and if apollom had not such a bad time management, I had to resign this game very soon. Conclusion I had minus two points and apollom had plus tw...

View Challenges on the Homepage (Overview)

It would be nice to see the open games where I am currently challenged on the Homepage (Overview Page)

Now I have to go to <Start A Game> to see if someone has challenged me.
Especially for the ladder/pyramid challenge one will be punished if one misses a challenge!

Re: 2012 Net-Chess Tournament Round 2

Hi

I did not decided not to participate in Round 2 but simply had to go for a buisness travel to India for two weeks.
And when I come back the game was timeout (10 days timeout). :?
So I missed the start of the second round.

Counter Challenge

Hi,

I know I have to start counterchallenge if I was challenged and I do not like the proposed think-time.
But how should I start a counterchallenge?

Many thanks in advance!!!

On Monday Vishy and Boris will play their last regular game for this WCC.
In case of a draw they will play on Wednesday the tie-break, note the tie-break will start sooner than the other games.

Re: World Chess Championship 2012

Yesterday Kasparov was there and commented the game, very funny: Position after 30.Rd2. Kasparov thought Anand should have thought for 20 minutes here. Not his best suggestion, Anand had only 10 minutes left. http://www.chess.co.uk/twic/chessnews/events/world-chess-championship-2012/anand-preparatio...

With 14... 0-0 Anand offerd a free pawn and got good counterplay but with 18. Bd2 Gelfand got back the pawn and the position was very drawish Gelfand still does not risk anything. 18.Qe2 could be very interesting [pgn]1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. e3 e6 5. Nf3 a6 6. Thanks for the URL http://www.chessbomb.com/ is exactly what I looked for. Live comments by a GM and the basic function is free :D :-) I am a bit surprised, both players do not want to risk anything. Gelfand surprised Anand and us with openings he never played before, but than he do not use his theo...

Vote Chess

Are you interested to play vote chess?

Two teams play one game. Each team discusses his current move in a private forum and after voting the team captain does the move, which was decided by the majority.

I believe you're incorrect. The pawn transformed before being captured. Actually it should show the knight and the promoted pawn imo. Hopefully others will weigh in also. You can see two white knights catched and one white knight on the board. If you look the catched pieces you see white lost 2 N 2...

Catched piece is not correct

In the game
http://www.slowchess.com/viewgame.cgi?p1=g1105081447
at move 15 I promote a pawn to a N and this N will be catched.

Now below of the board I see as catched piece a (additional) N.
I think it should be only a pawn.

Thanks.

Many good chess players in the early 20th tought the Caro - Cann opening is really bad. They called it it the dog opening.
They did not resign at move 2 but tried to refute the opening.

Later WM Botwinik used that opening and today nobody cares about the bad move 1..c6

Sort open games - permanent

Hello,

the sort open games works fine - but is not permanent.
I select a game - do my move - and come back to the open games list.
But now the sorting is back to the default sorting.

Permanent sorting would be fine

Thanks,
Sorim
