Hi Greg - it's been a while until I got around to following up. Have just downloaded all my completed games in PGN format and all the dates of the games display correctly. So far so good, but when I import into Chessmaster all the dates display as 2009.04.25 which I find really odd, given the source...

Downloading PGN - date question
Hi - I've recently started using SCID http://scid.sourceforge.net/ to analyze my lost games. I've downloaded all games into one pgn file successfully, but have noticed the 'Date' in the header is the date I downloaded, not a date which relates to the game/match. Based on the assumption that my play ...

Great idea! I have a lot of games on the go at the moment and am feeling an obligation to keep them moving along, but my free time is short at the moment. Therefore adding more wood to the fire probably ins't a good idea at the moment but hopefully things should settle down again over the next month...

After playing 'I don't Know' in a number of matches I'd also agree there is something not right here. While we have to be careful to distinguish between different levels of competency on this site (I've made some real humdinger blunders myself - to my shame  ) this player makes no attempt at c...

Hi Greg, thanks. When I originally made this post I was trying to fnd a way of monitoring the number of games so I didn't get carried away..er since then I obviously have :) It's no big deal but I'm grateful you've added this; it's the chessic equivalent of stepping on the bathroom scales and saying...

Hi Greg, that sounds good. I noticed today (now I'm using the comments box more) that comments are not retained after the move they were exchanged on. Is that the current functionality or did I experience a glitch? It would be great if the comments were retained for a whole game as I think this woul...

Thanks for the feedback everyone, and I agree with you MonsterMash in as much as one would hope people would not immediately interpret an abbreviated phrase they were unfamiliar with as something negative. My post was (in part) prompted by reading a much earlier post by rhand, subject: 'unbelievable...

Well, I ended up joining so many games I gave up trying to determine an upper limit before I reached it! To me playing a large number of games has disadvantages and advantages depending on how you think about it: on the up side you are more likely to always have some moves to make, and are m...

Hi. I'm interested to know how many folk use the comments box either at the start or the end of a game. I've read the post re 'GL' (good luck) at the start of a game, and 'GG' (good game) for use either at the start or conclusion of a game, but this went on to point out how 'GG' has been misinterpre...

Has anyone subscribed to www.chessgames.com?
Hi there Does anyone use the following site? http://www.chessgames.com/index.html It provides free info and stats on openings but after about 5 moves you are prompted to purchase premium membership :? . I'm wondering whether it is worth paying the (reasonable) annual subscription to get the other fe...

Hi Greg I found this chain after posting my recent message regarding notepad on 'My games'. There are a lot more good ideas in this chain but like Sonrisante's point below, I normally select games from the 'My games' view, not the main page so the notepad really would be a great feature there. Regar...

Notepad would be useful on 'My Games' page
Hi Greg Really enjoying the site - it's very addictive! Just a thought: I think it would be useful if the 'Your comments' field on 'All my games' was also displayed on the user's 'turn to move' view as this would act a a useful prompt and sustain a strategy. Maybe someone else has suggest this but I...

How to track how many games I am playing?
Is there any way other than counting via 'All my games'? Now I have quite a few in progress it would be useful to keep an eye on this figure to establish a realistic upper limit for 30d+2d games.
