Congrats go out to ramawolf and munbehend for a great final in my '05 tournament. They played an 8 game match with 1 win and 7 draws. This doesn't happen with just OTB chess. I played in the PAL/Freestyle tournament this weekend and was very stressed on the first day. I guess because I haven't really played any "live" chess in over 10 years. As for the feeling ... I'd have to say I liked it since on the second day I was very relax...

I've posted the matches for the first round for everybody. As a result, I'm listed as a player until I can unjoin the match. So please allow me to unjoin before enough players join to start the match! I'd hate to be playing that many games :-)

Jan, You did not advance because of the tournament format. Only two players per group can advance and drako advanced because of the tie-break system used. He was seeded 8th in the tournament and you were seeded 9th. Being seeded behind him meant that you needed to score above him to advance because ...

Just out of interest how do chess computers select openings? Is it totally random or do they have set rules for selecting one They have an opening book which they select their moves from.
