I would agree with this last comment, and go one further to suggest that the "my games" page be made to look like the short list from the home page, i.e., that it would include the game i.d. I hesitate to make this suggestion, because my initial reaction to the thread was negative, in that there are...

Who Dat?
I recognize that this is an international board, and not everyone follows (American) football. Still, I thought I'd poll the group on the expected outcome of Sunday's playoff games.
I'm from New Orleans, so I'm polling from a Saints point of view. (Go Saints!)

Guys, please be nice in your comments. I'm afraid they might make wkings think we are not a friendly bunch, and then he might not pick us. Of course, if he (i) complains about a slow player who is clearly in a lost position and refuses to resign, (ii) gripes about not picking up a W when someone tim...

Stereotypical Chess Players
A friend of mine expressed surprise the other day upon hearing that I enjoyed playing chess. (We were having a conversation about Fantasy Baseball, aka Rotisserie Baseball, and how time consuming it was--and I threw in that not only did I have to manage two fantasy baseball teams, but I had approxim...

Alternative Topic: Performance Enhancing Drugs
There are many performance enhancing drugs that could ruin correspondence chess. Whiskey is my personal favorite because it helps me relax. I wish I had one now. I often need a stiff drink when reading the latest general forum posting. (Yes, I know I should not read them if they upset me, and I'm in...

And I thought we wore out the "my opponent won't move/resign and he's in an obvious lost position" thread! Maybe we could conjur up Senator McCarthy and he could have some hearings and we could develop some lists of suspected engine users. Or if you really really care and if it really really bothers...

If your opponent times out, he always gets the loss. If your opponent times out before 10 moves, you get nothing. If your opponent times out after 10 moves, you get win. (Not sure if that starts with the 10th or the 11th move.) I think if you look at some of the history of postings on this forum, yo...

Re: Stupidity blooms even in the desert
I have won games that lasted many months (for the stupid delay of resigning) and in the end adding a few or 0 points because my opponents mysteriously had lost a lot of points in a match where they were defeated. Maybe Mr. K has made up fake games to get himself back to the rating he would have bee...

Nice job, Bret! You helped the guy find out why his internet bill is so high! Just think how much $ he'll save by limiting his play to other (real) opponents, instead of all those games against himself? I wonder if he calls himself an idiot? Can gmiller just erase this thread and we can all pretend ...

I'm curious; what's the measurement period for the top moves. It can't be a day, right?

Playing the Server
Did I miss an announcement about the "Play the Server" being disabled? I haven't been able to use this feature for a while, and I sort of miss it.[/list]
