Re: Forfeits and move time limit
I used to find people who abandon games to be very frustrating. So, now, before i join a match I look at each player to see what their forfeit percentage is. If I feel the number of forfeits is too high in relationship to the number of games played I don't join. This seems to work for me.

It's too much effort to cheat. Just play your games. Win, lose or draw! It's all just for fun anyway. Cheaters, after all, are only cheating themselves.

Pinned Rook
Can a pinned piece put a king in check? I had my opponent's rook pinned with my queen. On my opponent's next move he could have put me in check with his other rook. The second rook would have been protected with the pinned rook. Could I have taken the second rook with my king? The only piece protect...

Re: Playing Against Our Net-Chess Server Engine ?
I just payed the server for the first time in a year or so. I was losing as I always do when I play the server, so I forced the server into the "3 move repetition " rule. However, the game didn't end. It just kept on going. I stopped playing after about 10 repetitive moves. Does the server not recog...

I, for one, consider a win by timing out to be a hollow win. It takes all the fun out of the game. Using the clock in an across the board game is totally different in my mind than using the clock on this site. Across the board games in a tournament is a totally different game than what we play here....

I would happily pay $30 per year to belong to net-chess. :D If there were a nominal fee it would deter these people who start games and disappear from joining. Greg,
My company recently installed "Web Sense" that restricts us from going to game sits. Is there any way into net-chess that won't identify the site as a game site? I've tried slow-chess, but that doesn't get me in. Another way in would be great.
