Re: frustrated....i just don't get it
i'm frustrated to the point of angrily drinking myself into a suicidal/homicidal rage. i just don't get it. it eludes me. the whole game of chess, apparently i should take up stamp collecting or some other obvious hobby. i read books, "study" games, whatever, and i still don't see it. WHY (for exam...

At the higher levels ALL players are using engines - in fact ALL of the high rated players on slowchess do it also. Because of that, the advantages negate each other. In the end you have a human (with engine) playing a human (with engine) and the better player scores more points. Some players just m...

Lovley! That's actually something I am waiting for to happen to myself. I'd so punch that guy's face in, his own mom wouldn't recognize him anymore. Some people might think cheating in chess is funny, but they'll change their mind as soon as they run into an opponent with no sense of humor whatsoeve...

The combined draw offer is a difficult subject indeed because of the client-limitations. Maybe we should have a button for it like "Select games to make a draw offer" and then "Accept the combined draw offer" (yes/no). On the other side this is simply unsportsmanlike conduct by the opponent, so the ...

The first guy has me waiting for 100 days already and the other is playing on being a queen and a rook down in a mate in 5 position. Unbelievable!

I played 4 games with him and I have to say that he was the toughest opponent I have met here so far. His 2600+ rating didn't come from nowhere. Still it is kinda shocking to see him drop down to 2200 after he obviously went nutz. He resigned like 50 games at once and is offering matches with weird ...

That is all granted. Of course it is up to the player when to resign or when to play on and try to come up with some unique defensive idea. Sometimes people just want to see proper technique by their opponent before they resign. All ok! When I am doing kids training then sometimes I have to watch on...

what i wanted to act against was, are people like Neric, who join the site, and start complaining about players playing too fast (and make irritating mistakes), or playing too slow, or not resigning when he wants them to. if you are so frustrated by the people on this site, i would suggest to leave...

We need an arbiter!
I am rather tired of having to watch my opponent drag on theoretical draws forever and forcing the 50 move rule to decide in the end. This is simply lacking sportsmanship. No problem on chess with normal timecontrols since it is a matter of hourse, but a huge problem in corresponcence chess when guy...

People are playing much too fast. These games are not blitz games, but most are treating them just like blitz. The number of gross blunders is extremely high for "correspondence chess". About the question, it depends of course. If you are familiar with the opening you can play very fast. If you find...

In 190 days my opponent will lose on time, but I expect him to make a few more useless moves to stretch it even longer.

Actually some people don't really know when to resign. In two of my games I am a full queen (!!) up for nothing. In like five others I am a piece up and in one game it is three pawns for nothing. Now that would be understandable if this was over the board play or even blitz, but this is corresponden...
