I have changed my mind about the other game. Instead of finishing the mate in 5 I will just promote my other pawns and show him up. Maybe he is hoping for stalemate. That would be the ultimate joke.

The first guy has me waiting for 100 days already and the other is playing on being a queen and a rook down in a mate in 5 position. Unbelievable!

If you don't want to trust my judgement then check my statistics on slowchess. It has to be seen in relation to that.

I played 4 games with him and I have to say that he was the toughest opponent I have met here so far. His 2600+ rating didn't come from nowhere. Still it is kinda shocking to see him drop down to 2200 after he obviously went nutz. He resigned like 50 games at once and is offering matches with weird ...

That is all granted. Of course it is up to the player when to resign or when to play on and try to come up with some unique defensive idea. Sometimes people just want to see proper technique by their opponent before they resign. All ok! When I am doing kids training then sometimes I have to watch on...

Thanks gmiller. There is a problem though, along with the adjustments the rating of one opponent went from 2600 to 2140 or so which is hardly in line with his previous success.

In 190 days my opponent will lose on time, but I expect him to make a few more useless moves to stretch it even longer.

Funny, but amongst my 20 games played so far, 4 ended with checkmate. It seems to me that lots of people are treating these games like blitz games.

Actually some people don't really know when to resign. In two of my games I am a full queen (!!) up for nothing. In like five others I am a piece up and in one game it is three pawns for nothing. Now that would be understandable if this was over the board play or even blitz, but this is corresponden...

It all depends on compensation. If you are a knight down for nothing you may as well resign. If you got some sort of compensation you should play on until the position is clear.
