How about.... a) 1. Ng4 - queen must retreat diagonally. 2. Nxp ch. Kh8 3. Nxp ch. If rook or queen takes the knight the queen moves to h3 with checkmate following. 3b. Kg8. But I don't see much after that. I've gained two pawns and have a good position against a weakened king position. I would move...

Password E-mail

I got the following in my e-mail from here....

The password for steve is noneofyourbusiness
Request was processed from 69.174.100.73

Is that because somebody pretending to be me said they forgot their password? Is it a reminder in case I forget (I'm not THAT forgetful)? Or is it something else?

On (a)... how about Bxf7, followed by Ne5 double check (assuming king takes the bishop), nxg6. But this only gains a pawn and knight for a bishop.

For 29a I was considering castling queen side. That seems to accomplish the same thing as a6. Would this cause a problem?

Okay, I see mate most of the time if black moves the knight to d5. But I can't see mate if white moves the king to a1. Am I missing something?

On the first one, I would take the pawn on d5 with my knight. Depending on where the opponent moves the queen I could either move the knight to b6, capture the pawn on f6 or move my rook to c7. But the queen could capture the rook on c1 and it would be a trade of a knight and rook for a queen. On th...

I did something similar to what was done earlier - for each first move, how many possible 2nd moves. Then I added them up and got 440. There would be 440 possible moves, if the opponents move did not give additional moves or restrict any moves. The next step was to remove the moves where the positio...

But... if white does BxP, it would force QxB. Then white could capture the bishop with the pawn and there is no real advantage gained.

What about starting with N-K5? It would force the queen to move and would add an extra piece to the attack.
