problem with chess board
since a few days the chess board has a problem : i can't "scroll" back and forth through the moves in any game : i can see the current position, but no more than that.
the lay out has changed a little as well. anybody alse having these problems ?
Greg : any idea what happened ?

Peter

dark knights win (breaking news)
in the chess team competition, 3rd group, there is a winner : with the score at 6-0, the winning team is 'the dark knights'. thanks to Jeff, Amanda, Henry, Robert, Tim and 'mashley' for playing. one remark to mluka/gmiller : the competition started july 2003. 'regular' competition ended oct 2004 (1....

dear atlantan, my question has nothing to do with top moves etc., but i saw your name here, and it reminded me of a question i have : i saw some strange 'games' between you and nicoleskywalker : +/- 10 times nicoleskywalker resigned before making a move against you. although it is not really my busi...

Mike, my vote goes to using the result of the regular competition. this competition took over a year to be played. the result of this lead to : 4 teams out of 7 going through ; in my opinion not much value for the effort put in. a team that wins 3 matches out of 6 gets in the play offs. so any extra...

you say you 'only intervene when people disturb others'. as i understand this : if somebody is complaining, that does not necessarily mean you HAVE to do anything : sometimes doing nothing is the right thing to do. and i would hate to think that everybody who's complaining in this forum is making 'a...

I only automatically intervene when the players' behaviour begins to disturb players in other games, which is almost never the case in correspondence chess. Or, in other words, I'm not getting involved in a mess between two people unless I have to. sorry, Greg, this was a case of 2 players in a mes...

I only reduce the amount of time remaining when a player is obviously avoiding moving in a lost position with considerable time left. I also force draw offers in clearly drawn positions. Marv (gmchess's opponent) has over a 100 games going where he is making moves, so he's clearly not on vacation a...

Greg, I can't believe this ! I always assumed the rules where clear : everybody who starts a game here knows the clock he's playing, and knows the rules of chess. but now i'm not sure anymore : are you going to intervene everytime somebody starts whining here ? i might have saved up some time in som...

i just looked at the 'all ratings' listings. maybe we need a committee here to prevent these 'lousy questions' here, so as they do not take up the precious time of our beloved mister muabdib.

15x1 tourny
Greg,
i'm playing in a 15 (players) x 1 (game) tourny at the moment. i just noticed that one player has 2x white and 12 times black. this is randomly set ?
is it hard to make it 7/7 for everyone ?
cheers,
peter

As the chess teams competition is going towards playoffs, I'm already dreaming of next season (not that we're not in the playoffs, mind you 8) ) As I know there's a lot of belgian players (flemish and wallon), I was wondering if we could have a belgian team playing next year (maybe even 2). after al...
